This is information received from Michael Glaze and lists different events and things to photograph during the month of July 2011.

• Seafair runs all month. A host of things to do… and photograph. Milk Carton Derby and the Indian POW WOW and the Bon Odori on the weekend of the 16th and 17th. That will keep you busy in the city. There are Parades and food festivals galore… Things for kids and such.
• The Muzzleloading Rendezvous is the weekend of July 9th and 10th at the Tacoma Sportsman Club in Puyallup, makes sense to me!! Where  else would Tacoma build a Sportsman Club but in Puyallup???
• The Rendezvous that has real easy access is in Tenino. It is held on the weekend of July 22nd -24th. It is the town’s yearly Lewis and Clark  thing and there is a Parade and Fire Engines and marching drill teams and old cars and such. The Rendezvous is just 2 blocks off of Main Street next to the Highschool. One of the cute things is the Candy Canon Shoot for little kids. Mom and Dad hold all the little kids hands and the “Cannoneer” shoots a small canon loaded with hard rock candy. As soon as it comes down, the parents let the little kids go and it is
  a race to get to the candy all over the ground. It is a hoot. This usually happens between 12 and 1 pm. There was one these at the Rendezvous at Rim Rock Eatonville on the 2nd.
• Hydro races in first week of August.
• Also on the first weekend of Aug are the following, A Civil War re-enactment Battle in Ferndale, both Saturday and Sunday the 6th and 7th or if you want something Medieval or Renaissance-ish, The Mid-Summer Renaissance Faire  runs the first three Weekends of Aug. in Buckley.
• Come September, the photo season of events is winding down. There is the Wooden Boat Festival in Port Townsend the weekend after Labor Day weekend and the Fall Harvest Rendezvous in Littlerock, on the 15th thro the 18th. That is it for the close to Seattle events of less than 2 hours drive. The Rendezvous stop because the shooters are out hunting for Bambi or Yogi and put food on the table. By the way, Muzzleloading hunters and Archery Hunters, because of the shorter range of their weapons must actually hunt, and are more successful than there high-powered rifle brethren.
• There are other events that are in Oregon or Eastern WA. All over 2 hours drive away I did not mention. Between what Anita has posted and I have put out there, there are a ton of interesting photo ops here in the Salish Sea Area. All of the events I mentioned should give you plenty of opportunity to photograph people in some sort of costume, doing something different.
